Advanced Treatments: Mako™ Technology

We offer advanced hip procedures with the goal of greatly reducing your pain, scarring and recovery time compared to traditional joint replacement surgery. In addition to arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive total hip replacement and hip resurfacing, some of our locations offer Mako robotic-arm-assisted hip replacement surgery. A 3D model of your hip is used to pre-plan and assist your surgeon in performing this surgery.

Some benefits of Mako total hip replacement include:

  • More accurate placement of your hip implant using the surgeon-controlled robotic arm system, which can reduce the likelihood of hip dislocation
  • More consistency in leg length, potentially decreasing the need for a shoe lift
  • Decreased risk of the implant and bone abnormally rubbing together, which may improve the lifetime of the implant
