Surgery (Radical Prostatectomy)

If your treatment plan includes radiation therapy, SpaceOAR — a small hydrogel spacer — may be used as a natural barrier, protecting the rectum from the high-dose radiation region. This innovative, protective gel barrier is applied during a minimally invasive procedure and is eventually naturally absorbed by your body.

Brachytherapy
Brachytherapy is a method of using radiation to treat cancer by placing radioactive “seeds” inside or very close to a tumor. These seeds are smaller than a grain of rice and treat tumors from the inside out. This treatment option can significantly reduce the need for frequent radiation treatments and typically has shorter recovery times than traditional treatment.
