Feel Informed,
Find Hope
Facing a brain tumor takes courage, hope and an expert team standing by you to lead the way. One of the first steps on your journey is understanding your diagnosis and possible treatment options. Our team developed this free guide to help you understand several types of brain tumors.
Personalized Treatment Tailored to You
There are so many things that make you one of a kind. It only makes sense that you’d choose a unique treatment program tailored to your physical, mental and spiritual needs. We do everything possible to prioritize your well-being and healing. From leading-edge radiation and chemotherapy treatments to state-of-the-art neurosurgical operating rooms and minimally invasive brain surgery, it’s our goal to heal your brain tumor with great precision and care.

Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a type of malignant brain tumor treatment that uses drug therapy to destroy cancer cells. The chemicals used in chemotherapy attack cancer cells by interfering with cell division and stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Sometimes, chemotherapy is the only cancer treatment used. But more often, chemotherapy is used in combination with surgery, radiation therapy or biological therapy.

Gamma Knife® Elekta Esprit™
We’re the only facility that offers Gamma Knife® Elekta Esprit™ in Central Florida. This procedure is the gold standard of care and reduces pain, minimizes the risk of infection, and expedites your recovery time. It treats some of the most complex conditions with a single dose of radiation that eliminates the need for multiple treatments. This non-invasive radiosurgery procedure targets and destroys diseased brain tissue with precisely focused radiation while leaving surrounding healthy tissue unharmed — often in less than one hour.

GammaTile® Therapy™
We're the first facility in Florida to be recognized as a Center of Excellence for leading in patient care and education for brain tumors, achieving a standard of exceptional clinical expertise and outcome improvement. GammaTile is a biodegradable implant embedded with radiation “seeds” that deliver targeted radiotherapy specifically to the region where your brain tumor was located prior to surgery. The number of tiles used is customized to the size and location of the area. After GammaTiles are placed, they immediately begin providing therapeutic radiation, which is delivered slowly and safely over several months. The GammaTiles become non-radioactive (inert) over time, and your body will naturally absorb the collagen implant, leaving behind only the inert seeds.

Intraoperative 3T MRI
This advanced medical imaging improves surgical outcomes by allowing images to be taken in the operating room. Thanks to this technology, we ensure the surgery has been successful, minimizing the potential need for a second operation and reducing exposure to radiation in our state-of-the-art neurological suites.

Minimally Invasive Brain Surgery
Faster recovery leading to better outcomes — that’s what you can expect of our minimally invasive surgeries, including endoscopic endonasal skull-base surgery and MRI-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT). Over one-third of our brain tumor surgical procedures are considered minimally invasive.

Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays or other types of radiation to kill tumor cells or keep them from growing. Depending on the type of brain tumor and its location, one of two types of radiation therapy may be recommended in your treatment plan. External radiation therapy uses a source that is outside the body to deliver radiation to the tumor's location. Internal radiation therapy uses a radioactive substance that is sealed inside a needle, wire, catheter or "seeds" and placed directly into or near the brain tumor.

Fast-Track Your Second Opinion
You deserve to feel informed and confident in your treatment decisions. A second opinion at AdventHealth can help you gather more information about your diagnosis and find compassionate support.
Turn to us for second opinions on diagnoses like brain tumors, glioblastomas, minimally invasive brain surgery (MIBS), neuromas, neurovascular conditions, pituitary tumors and trigeminal neuralgia.
Your second opinion is extremely important, so you’ll receive a call from our dedicated nurse navigator within 72 hours after we receive your medical information. And if a new treatment plan is identified, we’ll expedite your future appointments with our care team.
