  • LP-Florida-Central-Pediatrics-Cancer-CAR-T-Cell-Therapy

    CAR T-Cell Therapy

Our pediatric cellular therapy program is the only one of its kind in Central Florida and now offers CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) T-cell therapy for pediatric patients with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This groundbreaking, FDA-approved treatment now offers hope to children with leukemia that is difficult to treat. We collect the patient’s T cells, a type of white blood cell that is part of our immune system. These cells are then reprogrammed and given back to the child, allowing them to use their own immune system to destroy the cancer cells without radiation or harsh chemotherapy. We are excited to be the only program in Central Florida to offer this innovative, lifesaving treatment option for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia patients under the age of 25 who have relapsed or refractory disease.
