Leading Cancer Research and Technology
At AdventHealth, we’re on the forefront of cancer research, detection, prevention and treatment. We provide preventive care and treatments with the best technology available to help you heal faster.
-
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials give patients direct access to promising new therapies, with the goal of identifying new and better ways to treat and prevent cancer and improve the quality of life during and after treatment.
-
Genetic Counseling and Screening Program
Staffed by an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), our Genetic Counseling and High-Risk Screening Clinic can help assess your personal and familial risk of cancer so you can make informed decisions about your care.
-
SpaceOARTM Hydrogel for Prostate Cancer
Used in prostate cancer treatment, SpaceOAR hydrogel is a gel-like material that makes treatment more efficient, reducing the number of radiation therapy appointments. During minimally invasive radiotherapy, the hydrogel temporarily moves the rectal wall away from the prostate, minimizing damage to the rectum.
-
TrueBeam® Radiotherapy Technology
Using innovative treatment technologies like the TrueBeam® linear accelerator, our expert radiation team can deliver more concentrated and precise doses of radiation, providing better outcomes and reducing the overall treatment time.

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)
AdventHealth Daytona and AdventHealth Waterman are the only hospitals in Volusia County to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Our Cancer Institute achieved this important certification after demonstrating excellence in program leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement. Patients who receive care at our NAPBC-accredited center have access to information on clinical trials, innovative treatments, genetic counseling and patient-centered services, including care navigation.
