Giselle Torres, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN who obtained her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan Puerto Rico. She also completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Torres has provided compassionate women’s care in her community since 2016. As an OB/GYN, she works collaboratively with her patients to accomplish the desired goals with dedication and empathy. Dr. Torres is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Desai attended college and medical school in Miami, Florida, at the University of Miami. He completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and was administrative Chief Resident of OB/GYN care at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Desai is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Mamie M. Rogers is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, with special interests in prenatal care, minimally invasive procedures and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Rogers provides care for women at all stages of life, with services including annual exams, birth control and pregnancy care. After earning her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University, Dr. Rogers completed her OB/GYN residency training at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Pamela Carbiener, MD

Dr. Carbiener is a board-certified physician practicing obstetrics and gynecology for over 20 years. The first half of her career was focused on organized medicine, chairing the OB/GYN departments at Ormond and Halifax, becoming Chief of Staff at Halifax, and eventually serving on the Halifax Board of Commissioners and as a delegate for the Florida Medical Association. She then shifted to community-based organizations, serving on the boards of COPE, Healthy Start, Healthy Communities, the Bert Fish Foundation, The Daytona State College Center for Women and Men, and more. Dr. Carbiener is most proud of her work in two areas of health care: medical education with the FSU College of Medicine and her mission to maintain prenatal care access for all women.

Carine Richard, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife. After graduating from the Interfaith Medical Center School of Nursing, Carine received her Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Science degree and Midwifery certification from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center. A highly experienced clinician, Carine has served as a certified nurse midwife for more than 19 years. She has assisted in several medical mission trips to Haiti. She is committed to providing compassionate maternity care for growing families with expert attention for mothers and babies, from conception to birth and beyond.

Marilyn Mayne, DO, FACOOG, is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists. Dr. Mayne provides a broad variety of obstetric and gynecologic care, including annual exams, family planning, prenatal and pregnancy services and menopause management. She earned her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury before undertaking her obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She next served in the United States Air Force as a flight commander, Medical Director of obstetrics/gynecology and Major in the Medical Corps based at Misawa Air Base in Japan.

Katie Caldwell, DNP, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife who provides full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, labor/birth, postpartum care, breastfeeding support as a Certified Lactation Counselor, well-woman gynecology and gynecological procedures such as biopsies, IUDs and implants. She believes in supporting patient autonomy and meeting a woman’s birth wishes at all levels of intervention, always prioritizing the mother and baby’s safety.

Dr. Esquivel is a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology physician. She graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa before completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Florida in Jacksonville. After residency, she stayed on as Staff Physician and Assistant Professor, working both at the University of Florida Health and Orange Park Medical Center. Dr. Esquivel is originally from the Miami area and speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr. Robertson attended college and medical school in Columbus, Ohio, at Ohio State University and completed his residency at Summa Health Center in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Robertson has served our country as a physician in the U.S. Navy since 1999. He has taken care of our troops in the United States, Spain, Iraq and Japan. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Zachary Tyser, MD

Dr. Tyser is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and truly enjoys seeing the full spectrum of OB/GYN patients. He has special interests in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, management of endometriosis and other pelvic pain disorders, novel management of uterine fibroids, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Dr. Tyser completed his medical school training at Florida State University after earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 2017 at the Palmetto Health/University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

We specialize in high-risk pregnancy care, offering access to a maternal-fetal medicine program with specialized physicians and a state-of-the-art, high-risk OB inpatient unit at AdventHealth Orlando. We also have a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, part of the nationally recognized AdventHealth for Children NICU network, which can make a crucial difference when your little one needs extra care.

Level II NICU Ready to Care for Your Special Delivery

We are honored to offer a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Volusia County at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. If issues arise during delivery, our emergency-trained staff, maternal-fetal specialists and neonatologists are here 24 hours a day for infants who come a little early, or who require special care. Our NICU is specifically designed to protect and promote the developing senses of newborns — even infants born as early as 30 weeks.

We are the only hospital in the area offering private, family-centered NICU rooms to promote privacy and rest. Each NICU room is designed with your family’s safety and comfort in mind, featuring:

  • A playroom for siblings and family
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Medical support for critical care, if needed
  • Mini fridge
  • Overnight accommodations
  • Showers

With a place for your family to rest and our team close by, you can be there for your baby while in NICU care. Parents can also rest assured that they have access to even more nationally recognized NICU care at the Level III NICU at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, should the need arise.

Expecting? Our Pediatricians Are Here

Expecting parents can rest assured that AdventHealth for Children board-certified pediatricians are ready and available to care for your newest arrival. When your baby is born, the hospital will require you to have a pediatrician chosen and scheduled before you leave. You're welcome to get to know our providers and ask questions before your baby arrives. It's important for you to feel comfortable with your pediatrician since they'll get to know your family well in your child's early years and beyond.
